Training - Concealed Carry Handgun

NC Concealed Carry Handgun Course (CCH)

PoliceTech offers this course only in North Carolina. Why should a person take a concealed carry course from PoliceTech as opposed to somewhere else? The reason why is because of the quality of instruction. A person that attends a Concealed Carry Handgun Course will meet or exceed all of the State requirements.

One of the most abused course requirements is the required training time. There is at least one school that will teach the course in three hours. This type of training is doing a disservice to the student. At PoliceTech the student will receive not only the highest quality of instruction, but he or she will receive the expected quantity of instruction.

Topics that will be covered are as follows:

  • Legal Issues: ( 2 hours) The student will be able to demonstrate a general knowledge of North Carolina law on concealed handguns, handgun safety, and use of deadly force. The instructor shall use the lesson plan produced by the North Carolina Justice Academy. The instructor shall determine the student's level of understanding of the relevant legal issues by a written examination

  • Handgun Fundamentals: The students will be able to: (a) demonstrate how to properly load both a revolver and semiautomatic handgun; (b) demonstrate how to properly unload both a revolver and semiautomatic handgun; (c) describe the operational characteristics of their handgun; and (d) successfully complete a proficiency test administered by the instructor as prescribed in 12 NCAC 09F .0105 (7).

  • Marksmanship Fundamentals: The student will be able to: (a) demonstrate a proper handgun grip; (b) demonstrate either the Weaver or Isosceles Stance; (c) describe the elements of sight alignment and sight picture; and (d) demonstrate trigger control in a dry fire exercise.
